Frequently asked questions
Is your saffron pure?
Yes — every batch is single-harvest, filament-only saffron from our own fields in Pampore. No colouring, no flavouring, no blending, and no adulteration, ever.
Does saffron expire?
Saffron does not expire in terms of food safety, but it loses its flavor, color, and aroma over time.
How should I store my saffron?
Keep it in the airtight sealed packet, away from light, heat, and moisture. Stored like this, quality saffron keeps its colour, aroma, and strength for two years or more.
Shelf Life Guidelines
Whole threads: Keep peak quality for 2 to 3 years (and remain usable for longer).
Ground powder: Degrades much faster and loses potency within 6 to 12 months.
Safety: Old saffron will not make you sick unless it gets wet and grows mold.
How much saffron do I need for cooking?
A good pinch — about 15–20 threads (roughly 0.1 g) — is enough for a dish for four to six people. Grind or bloom the threads in a little warm water or milk before adding.
